G-youth Scholarships

G-Youth’s scholarship program is intended to support out-of-school youth living in Garissa Municipality to attend skills development training courses (Vocational and Professional, High School, College) and university education so they can upgrade their knowledge and skills in ways that increase their opportunities for finding jobs. Youth, who are aspiring entrepreneurs and/or are interested in starting a livelihood in Agribusiness, ICT, Livestock value chain and construction industries are strongly encouraged to apply. The overall purpose is to address challenges of employment and livelihood opportunities for youth. The grants will be made available ONLY to youth who successfully secure admissions to relevant training institutions based in Garissa Municipality. Limited opportunities will be made available for youth from Garissa living outside Garissa.

The scholarship awards shall be based on an open, transparent and competitive process and are not guaranteed or automatic. Vulnerable and orphaned youth from Garissa municipality will receive special consideration. Those already admitted to learning, vocational and training institutions within Garissa municipality are also eligible to apply for the scholarship grants subject to being able to demonstrate that they are unable to continue without help.
Scholarship awards will be between Kshs 8,000 and Kshs 80,000 per person per course there shall be at least a maximum of 400 scholarship awards in this round to those who qualify.
