Project Advisory Committee

The Project Advisory Committee (PAC) is an integral part of the project as it provides general oversight and guidance for the implementation of the project. The initial composition of PAC includes the following people and organizations:

1. District Education Officer or representative
2. District Officer Central representing the District Commissioner’s Office
3. Representative from the Secondary School Heads Association – Garissa district chapter
4. Town Clerk for Garissa Municipal Council
5. Supreme of Kenya Muslims representative SUPKEM
6. Area Member of Parliament Honorable Dualle’s Office representation
7. Garissa Youth Polytechnic
8. Ministry of Youth Affairs
9. NEPTTI
10. The following positions have also been assigned with the guidance of the PAC after its initial meeting:
1. Private sector representative
2. Youth representative
3. Representation from the livestock industry will have to await the Labour study.
11. The G–Youth Deputy Director serves as a secretary to the PAC

TASKS

The PAC enhances ownership of the various project components by all the parties involved. The PAC also serves as a forum to tackle technical aspects and the coordination of inter-related tasks and activities currently undertaken by different actors in the district. The PAC also serves as an advisory body for all development initiatives targeting youth in the district. The primary responsibility of the committee shall be to coordinate the activities of G – Youth Project in Garissa district.

MEETINGS

The PAC meets once a month. An emergency meeting of the PAC may be called depending on the urgency of the matter.The PAC elected the chair in its first meeting and G- Youth Deputy Director serves the secretary to the PAC.
