About G-Youth

The Garissa Youth Project (G-Youth) is designed to create enabling environments that empower youth in different ways through a youth-owned, youth-led model.  The project supports youth in designing and managing initiatives that improve economic and social opportunities for themselves and their communities, enables increased numbers of Garissan youth to have greater access to livelihood opportunities and the world of work, increases youth retention and transition to secondary schools and higher education, and empowers youth to promote principles and practices of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities through civic education.

GARISSA YOUTH ACTION SUMMIT 2012

May 29, 30, 31st at the Kenya National Library Services, Garissa Branch

 

As part of the Garissa Youth (G-Youth) Project, implemented by Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) and funded by USAID, the youth of Garissa are being supported to host a Youth Action Summit, to be held on May 29, 30, and 31st at the Kenya National Library Services, Garissa Branch.  The overall goal of the Summit is to further develop and showcase Garissa youth leadership, while fostering linkages for enhanced opportunities for all Garissan youth. The summit is intended to be the culmination of a series of skills-building events, dialogues, and priority setting while establishing momentum for greater activity, cooperation and progress to transition from a marginalized status into a proactive, development-focused, youth-friendly community.
